I was wandering the same thing myself. Or maybe even the blank?
2-3 inches of ice up here in Minnesota, my ice season should start by Wednesday!

i ice fish upstate ny mostly saratoga lake and sometimes lake george
would love to go out west to michigan minnesota montana

Guys,
Do not expect us to come out while our line up of ice fishing rods anytime soon. I have no clue what would make a great ice stick, but I can't wait to try it our some day.

upsavr- Minnesota has a lot of options. Mainly Pike, Walleyes, Crappies and Perch thru the ice. Lake of The Woods, Mille Lacs, and my favorite Lake Vermilion are all great ice destinations.
kistlero- Good to hear your not ruling it out. Ice Fishing is growing fast with more people going every year here in MN as well as other places as I'm sure you know already.
Ice conditions took a turn for the worse today with Sunny skies, 30 temps, and a moderate breeze.

It was -35 the other night up here.
