Took off work today and went to the swamp pond. Partly cloudy, no wind, warm--74 degrees--shorts, hat, and sunglasses

Couldn't find them. I really tried a new rattlin' jig a lot that I really like but no 'thumps'. I also used a new trailer that I also really like. I've never been a fan of the 'chunk' type trailers but these make a great combo. Note the rattle on the jig site. That is an amazing little invention.

The first Bass picked a pitched Charlie's Worm rigged Texas-style with a 1/4 ounce tungsten screw-in weight and a 3/0 straight-shank Gammy. This combo was new to me too.

The second Bass show's the importance of a trailer hook.

I did take a shot at a 6' 'gator but I missed .

Hey Dan, where do you live? In Florida? Is that your own pond? If so, did you build your own pond? I wish I had a pond like yours where I can go fish anytime I want. Laughing

dksu: No, it belong's to a friend of mine where we work. I pay him a small stipend each December for his kindness. A few years ago, I got him to let me go there and fish it from one of his aluminum canoes Mad and I fell in love with the pond. It was 'built' by laying an earthen damn across a creek about 25 years ago and is about 7-10 acres. It was never officially stocked , just had a few Bass brought in by other Bassers right after it was built. It's located about 2 miles west of Elko, GA---right slap-dab in the middle of the state. And yes, I'm very fortunate.

My wife and I live about 25 miles north of there in Warner Robins, GA.

I was born-n-raised in Miami, Florida many, many moons ago but we moved to WR right after the third riot in Miami.

Oh I C.... I'm in NC, chapel hill. My girlfriend and I go to this municipal reservior every week to fish. There some nice fish there too, but not as big as your friend's pond. I c from your pictures that you have lot of good japanese tackle. I wish I could afford all those expensive jap tackle. But since I'm a student, I have to wait. Sad . But Dan, enjoy your fishing trips and keep posting pictures for us! Very Happy
