LTX II 7'11" Heavy Telescopic Flipping Rod

I am interested in buying this rod and was looking for some feedback from users. I would put my Chronarch 100BPV on the rod and would use it for flipping, pitching, and swimbaits (up to 2 - 2.5oz.), as well as SENKOS!!!!!!!

I like the convenience of a telescoping rod but will any sensitivity be compromised?

Well, I'll give you my opinion. IT is PERFECT! Steve Kennedy won on Clear Lake last year using this model to chunk big swim baits. It will work! Also, because of the flexible tip action, it will cast a senko a mile with no effort at all. Get one before we sell out of the 08 stock!

I own two. Best flippin' rod on the planet. Maybe the lightest 7'11", well-balanced rod you will ever fish with. I leave tomorrow for the FLW Series California Delta event. I am excited and looking forward to using this rod for the next few days during pre-fish and the tourny. The last Delta event, I used this rod to flip sixteen bass on day two, just no giants... I use my two rods to flip and pitch, but I know a few guys on tour who also use it to toss 1 and 1.5 oz spinnerbaits along deep ledges. This model is one of my favorite rods in the Kistler line-up, and strongly recommend it. TL

Do you feel like you lose some sensitivity with this rod being telescopic?

There is not a significant difference in sensitivity between a one piece and a telescopic rod. Most folks would think so but we believe it is largely due to their own perception, not actual test data.

Not being argumentative at all but just have a real honest question about the difference between a 1 and 2 piece/telescopic rod.

How can there not be a big difference when there is a complete separation in the blank? I would think that since vibration is pretty much what you feel then those waves would be dulled by the transition from one piece to the other. Just my geekish mind at work but to me there has to be some real lose of feel.

If true, that does not mean that it is extreme and at a level that we could even really feel but at anywhere between 2 to 4 hundred dollars for the rod and the money that could be lost in a tournament its almost a gamble to go either way. I guess its just personal choice.

I do see that you guys don’t have a longer single piece rod so I can see that you stand behind your convictions and that is truly believing in what you got which is a good thing to see.
