I bought my first kistler about a month ago and was completely blown away by the sensitivity. The light weight is a great bonus. I did have one ...

I wanted to say I went fishing yesterday south of New Orleans. I was targeting bass, but the area is brackish water, and holds numerous sepecies of salt water fish, as welll as bass. I recently got a 7' Medium Heavy LTX rod, and wanted to try it out. I was throwing buzz baits with the rod. I had caught several nice bass, and got into a school of Red fish. I caught my limit of reds quickly. The LTX performed great, catching red fish up to 27". If you guys are looking for a awsome 7' Medium Heavy rod the HE2MHC70 can't be beat.

Skeeter,
Do you still own this rod? I am about to purchase the same rod but I am a bit concerned with tip-heaviness... it has been present in some of the 7-foot rods that I've used... is this rod tip-heavy?
I am looking for the ultimate in sensitivity for 3/8-1/2 oz football jigs and 1/8-1/4 Texas rigs, in terms of sensibility do you consider it better than the LTA? with the LTA I had to adjust my hook setting because Tilapia are so annoying and try to pick at the jig's skirt! with other rods i just couldn't feel those very subtle bites... but I want more!

Alejandro,

I just bought this rod and took it out yesterday for its inaugural trip. I've said this with every Kistler I've bought, but this is an unbelievable rod. I know what you mean about tip heaviness, and this rod is balanced and air light from butt to tip.

The tip loaded up perfectly with everything I tested out on it from a heavy buzz bait to a wacky worm with a 1/8 weight on it. Please don't let Kistler know they could be charging more for this rod, and I would still buy them.

In fact, I was just out on the back porch drinking a cup of coffee and had to go and get it so I could sit out there and look at it. Just ( - - blocked - - ) in to get on the website to see what Kistler has in an LTX in a spinning rod, too.

Good fishing, brother, and enjoy your new LTX!

-Marc

Thanks Marc,
That's very reassuring. I expect to receive the rod by tuesday and I can't wait to try it!

added 06/03:
By the way I ordered the He2MHC66 (it will take a few more days to arrive) to replace my trusty carrot stix, I opted for the shorter length because I fish a lot from a kayak and it is more comfortable to manage the shorter rods... also I have to admit because I was a bit nervous about balance (I will pair it with a curado 200e)
I hope I made a good choice, it´s 13 days to go to El Salto and counting...

Edgardo,
I went to El Salto last week (pics are in the fishing news' forum) and the ltx broke in half on the second or third hookset! I am sure it was some defect on the rod, this is the first rod I have ever broken! Fortunately I was able to get a 10-pound bass with a 2009 lta and other nice bass with a Mg and an Argon. Unfortunately it seems that the warranty process will take longer than I expected, but I am confident I will have my soon replaced soon to go fishing again!
Balance on the 6'6'' was superb with the curado...

does curricanes is making valid the warranty or are you dealing with kistler directly, sorry for learning for your bad experience but is actually important to know who in Mexico can do the support or if we have to see it directly from kistler .... sorry for writing in english but I cant write the word " t - a - m - b - i - e -n" 'cause it is marked as spam I don't know why ....

The warranty is being tramitted through the dealer (curricanes), I have been sent a form to fill out and it will be sent by the dealer along with the broken rod to Kistler de Mexico (with address in Monterrey) for checking out the rod to replace it. There will be a $20 US fee for warranty replacement
