My first post. I'm looking for a 6'9" med action spinning rod to throw small shad raps & jerkbaits. I like a fast action rod that's crisp but not too stiff on the upper 1/3 of the blank, that's why a fiberglass rod would not appeal too me. I know this rod was designed for finnesse worm applications, but I ask any who have used this rod do you think it might perform well with the intended purpose that I have in mind? This one might end up being my first Kistler rod, BTW I live in Battle Creek, MI and am eagerly waiting for tthe ice to come off. Thanks in advance for your response.

While I am not at all against buying a rod in the graphite plus series, I think you should consider the 6'9" Magnesium TS Top Water - Jerk Bait Special Rod. It is medium action and has a great tip, not to mention it is light enough to fish all day with no fatigue. This rod is sweet and I have been very happy with it!!! Good Luck!

It is hard to beat the KDSS69 no matter what rod series you try. I say try it and see for yourself. It is a super all purpose rod. Let me know what you think after the ice thaws.
