Im new here.

I am looking for 3 Kistler rods to fish small cranks, medium cranks, and large cranks. I have owned Loomis rods, but im looking for somehting new. I have heard great things about Kistler, so I am going to give them a try. The only thing I liked about Loomis was that they have rods for every technique and each is labled. Smile

What rod series or price range do you want to stay around?

I was interestd in the Helium LTA rods or the Magnesium. The Helium 2 LTX are out of my price range. Right now i have loomis rods for each size bait, so im hoping Kistler has sorta the same design for their rods. What do you recommend for the rods in that range? Im new to Kistler.

OK. The Magnesium Composite rods are the sweetest crankbait rods you will ever pick up! Either the MgCBCGGM66 or MgCBCGGM7 depending on your preference for lengths. These will work ( - - blocked - - ) crankbaits as well as mid depth crankbaits perfectly for the average angler.

Now for the Big, deep diving crankbaits, dozens of our customers have been going to a 7'6" rod with a med-hvy power. So the HE76MHC is the stick you need to try out for sure.

Give em' a try and let us know. We will switch you out if any of these three rods don't feel right for you.

Yes, I was looking at them. I was thinking about the 6 6 version for my shallow and the 7 for my mid depth. Instead of the 7 6 rod i was looking for 7 foot rod for my large cranks. But, i might give those you mentioned a try if thats what other are using.

What are Blocked cranks that you talked about? Would you recommend me throwing some Matzuo Nano's are the shallow rod, or would they work best with spinning gear. Same thing about the mini rattle traps. Are DD22 to big for the other rod you said. That rod would be for large cranks.

What rod would you say for rattle traps. I dont plan on ripping them.

I am 18 years old and someday hope to become a professional fisherman so i am always looking for a good name in fishng products, and from what ive hear, Kistler is a great company. So far, I love the service that I have got from you guys. I will be looking for other rods for other techniques once i try my first couple out.

If all you are going to chunk are DD22 and smaller, the Mg rods are all you need, I promise. If you want to try the Helium out, then get a He70MC. It will certainly perform great with the larger crankbaits like the DD22's.

If you think you can cast further with the spinning rod on those ( - - blocked - - ) cranks, then you might want to try our He66MLS. This is the perfect blank for small treble hooked baits.

Good luck with your pro fishing plans. I'm sure you will be there one day with a lot of hard work and experience out on the water using better equipment.

Thank you for trying our rods out!

Thank you,

I have one more question. Im a little confused about what you said before.

With loomis, I had a rod designed for large cranks and one designed for the oversized like the DD22's. Are you saying i can throw my oversized DD22's and large cranks on the same rod. Which rod can i throw my large cranks in a 7 foot rod. Also what did you say about the 7'6" rods. What were people using them for.

These composite rods will chunk the oversized DD22's. The 7'6" rods are just a little better for long casts if you don't mind the extra length. The He70MC will be great for most all cranks as well.

What are customers buying when it comes to jerk baits like the x-rap, spinner baits, and rattle traps mostly 1/2 to lower and top water lures like the sammys from Lucy craft?

As you can see I spend alot of money in fishing, but its something I love to do and i take great care of everything I own.

I throw alot of topwaters, and I use the Magnesium MGTWJBM68 for throwing my rouges, and topwaters. It performs great, and makes it very easy to work the bait. When it comes to the spinnerbait, I use a LTA 6'9" Med-Hvy, HE69MHC, or the LTA 6'3" Med-Hvy. HE63MHC if you don't mind using a 6'3" rod. The 6'3" rod is also a good all around rod for topwaters, rouges, and spinnerbaits.

I use a HE70MC for sammys, lipless baits, and jerkbaits. The medium action works great for those types of presentations.

Do you throw all your spinnerbaits on that rod. I have some bigger ones and others are a little smaller, like the pond magic from booyah.

yes, the new 2008 models will chunk most any average spinnerbaits up to 1/2 oz.

I think you ought to call up to our office and speak with Ryan about spinner baits. He loves to chunk em' and he'll be the best to answer your questions quickly over the phone.

He'll help you pick the perfect rod out that fits your needs.

Good fishing!
