I can keep it a secret no longer, lol...Sorry Bobu.
Yesterday Bobu and I were fishing the golf course. After I caught my fish on the spinnerbait (see Helium Forum), he decided to tie on a blade. I was still stoked and I suppose the excitement was a little contagious.
Bobu tied on a terminator 1 oz. in white with a yammy trailer and was just starting to smear a big ol glop of Carolina Lunker Sauce in Crawfish flavor. On a side note, the crawfish lunker sauce smells like, to quote Bobu, "hot garbage and a seafood restaurant dumpster." Anyhoo, in his rush to get rigged and after another Hawg, Bobu must have puta little to much pressure on the bottle. I was fishing and heard a "POP", sounded like when you blow up a chip bag and bust it in your hands. I didn't turn around but did ask, "dude what was that?"
No answer. So, I turned around. Bobu was heading for the edge of the pond with his head turned sideways looking at the water in a panic. He was about three shades of green and picking up speed as he headed to the waters edge. The lunker sauce bottle is different than other scents I have used, in that it has a plunger under a foam pad under a screw on cap. You press the foam on your lure and "gently squeeze the bottle"...thats what it says on the bottle anyway. For whatever reason, Mongo a.k.a. Bobu had put so much pressure on the bottle that it exploded. It was all over his shirt, hat and on his face. At this point I got a little concerned, reeled in and headed to the seen of the accident. Bobu is on his knees sloshing pond water in his face, dunking his hat and spitting/gaggin profusely. I asked him if it got in his mouth, LOL he looks up at me and says, "nope, just thirsty. I actually prefer pond water to Aquafina." At that point I busted out laughing, he is still swilling pond water and spitting out lunker sauce. When I could breath again, I wiped the last of the lunker juice off of him and put the crushed bottle in a baggy. Oh yeah, almost forgot. He asked me , "you got any gum?" I said, "( - - blocked - - ), in the truck." The truck was about a mile and a half away. So, be warned gentlemen. No matter how big the fish or how bad you want to get back in the game, squeeze the lunker sauce gently.
Bobu caught a nice fish out of the same pond where the lunker sauce taste test took place yesterday. So, I felt justified in posting this little episode. I just had to share, MUAHAHAHAH!!!
