Which reel for drop shot rod?

What is the best size Shimano Stratic MG FB or Sustain FE to use with the Magnesiums Drop Shot Rod? I am considering the 1000 or 2500 in each, but because of the length of this rod combined with the weight of each of these reels, I didn't know what would provide the best balanced outfit. I primarily will use this outfit for drop shotting, creature baits and soft plastics. Line weight will be a minimum of 6# and a maximum of 8#. Thanks for your help.
