HELLO,
here please find out the small cat got in touch with the 7foot heavy casting....
for your info, the european catfish here posted is around 40 pounts while world record is about 380 pounds...
the story from VINCENT ALEXANDRE of TEAM KISTLER FRANCE will come shortly.. HERE IT IS:
This is a small text speaking about the catch of the big fish in picture
In August, I went to the river “Saône”, near Fleurville, France, in order to do a pre-fishing. There is to be a contest of our championship AFCPL (French Lure Fishing Association) in early November. When we arrived there, the river was in spate and there was a very strong stream. So we decided, my friend and I, to explore the banks above quiet zones and the places where the young fish tend to gather. My attention was then caught by a chasing perch. At once, I cast my Xprolure spinnerbait just on the chase. Suddenly I felt a slight bite so I skittered and started to bring my rod, when all at once the rod bent over under the pressure of a huge fish. As I knew the river, I immediately understood I had to do with a brown bullhead (Silurus glanis) because there are plenty of fish of that kind in the Saône. As our boat was very near the bank, I found no other solution but curb the fish to the limit and pray for the fish not to entangle and stick in the trees in the water. I could not let go more than 5 metres of thread at the risk of losing it or breaking my rod. After a few minutes’praying I started to feel I was taking advantage of this fight. I had managed to draw the fish from the bottom and I could master its weight quite easily. After some minutes, we could see the fish’s figure and from this moment on we knew we had won the game. With a glove, my friend seized the powerful jaw of the brown bullhead and we brought it back to the bank, holding it tightly. Finally my Kistler LTX put an end to this monster, the weight of which we estimated up to more than 30lbs. The rod I used for this catch was the Vanish from Berkley’s with a diameter of 0.30 cm. The capture of such a specimen is very common in the Saône and fishes of more than 2 metres long have already been taken in the waters of this incredible river.
