I finally caught a 4lb. smallmouth. I had the chance yesterday to fish with Steve Quinn from In-Fishermen yesterday in Minnesota at Mille Lacs Lake. Steve is one of the nicest guys you could fish with. I told Steve that I only got to fish for smallmouth once for a couple of hours two years ago. The biggest one I caught then was only 1 1/2lbs. Steve like the rest of you guys told me how hard a 4lb. smallmouth pulls. Well yesterday, I found out how hard they do pull and it was great. We caught a good amount of smallies on topwater. We used the Graphite Plus Senko Special, Helium LTX 7’ Medium and a new prototype Kistler. My biggest was 4lbs. Steve had one that weighed 4.9lbs. The fight of these fish was great. I can’t wait to go again. Also, I got to find out how fast a pike can take your topwater away from you for good but not without catching one first.

Nothing pulls quite like a smallie. The best smallie fishing is yet to come. When can I expect you to visit the Northeast?
Congratulations!
