Hey guys!

Was wondering which LTA would work best for topwater soft plastic toads? I mostly toss the sizmic toads rigged on a 5/0 hook.

I got my sites set on the Heavy powered 7' LTA. I'm not a fan of anything over 7 foot, so I want that to be the limit. Does the 7' H LTA have what it takes to fish the topwater toad?

***Also, can someone confirm that it does have a 9" rear grip? I hate long rear grips and the 9" is probably nice on that rod.

Lakes,
I spend a lot of time fishing frogs, mainly horny toads and snag proof frogs. I would say if you plan on fishing a lot of slop or heavy weeds, go with the He76XHC. It works well with the swimming frogs and doubles for an AWESOME hollow bodied frog rod for the heavy stuff. The handle on my He76XHC measures at ten and one half inches, but you need the leverage on these fish anyway!! Very Happy Now if you are planning on fishing patches of weeds outside edges or open water "this is where I step outside the box" I would go for the He66HC hands down!!! This rod is a little shorter but still has the strength needed to get the big girls turned your way. This rod also allows me to walk a frog better in open water. Wink
Hope this helps
Mike

the 7' mh will work well for horny toads are ribbits in light cover. if you are going to fish in the slop go with the 7' heavy. i use the 7'mh for my ribbits and never have had to much of a problem. the graphite plus senko mag. is also a good frog rod.......hope this helps some.
