I fished Diamond Valley Lake in Southern California today and got into a a pretty good swimbait bite. I used the same Kistler rod (He2HC711T) that was used at Clear Lake to set the new record. I didn't set any records, but wanted to share with fellow Kistler fans that this rod is a great rod for smaller swimbaits. I used a 6" ReactionStrike Bass Harasser bait on 17lb test and caught five bass from 4.5 to 7.5 pounds. I know this rod is designed for flipp'in, but what a sweet rod for swimbaits. Tip is perfect for casting swimbaits a mile, plus it's light weight and is perfectly balanced. The folks at Kistler got this one right...

Tony,
Ditto on Kistler getting that one right!! I used mine for slinging Hudd's and slammers before I got one of the proto type swimbait rods. If you get a chance you might want to try one of the new swimbait rods when they come out The rod they designed for swimbaits is awesome!! The He2HC711T is the best flippin stick I've ever used!! It'll see alot of action on the Delta this weekend
God Bless
Mike

I heard the new swimbait rods should be out in the next few weeks. I'll take two please!!! By the way, I heard there are big fish in Lil Frank's right now on beds along the south west shore. Pay attention to the wood and timber during high tide. Good Luck!
