Would the 6'9'' LTA APC Baitcasting rod make a good rod for fishing T-rigged soft plastics? I was told that it was to soft.

I would mostly be using the rod for 3/16-1/2 oz weighted baits.. Mainly just moderate size Texas rigs, like zoom worms, baby brush hogs and other creature baits.

that rod has a MH power, but also has a somewhat parabolic action to it. If you're throwing these bait into heavy cover, it may not be enough rod. I use them for spinnerbaits.

I use that rod paired with a Fuego and it works great for most applications. Pitchin plastics texas style or flippin weightless Senko's into moderately heavy cover has been just fine. Its a real versatile rod.

Seems like it is getting mixed reviews as far as the weighted Texas rig is concerned.

Is there anyone else that uses their 6'9'' MH LTA for Texas rigged plastics?? Any other thoughts or concerns about using this rod for 1/4-1/2oz weighted T-riggs??

Appreciate the help so far!

I have the 7' MH LTA and use it for Texas rigging worms, creaturebaits, etc. I think its plenty stout. I think the 6'9 has the same fast action as the 7' model.

I use mine mostly for buzzbaits, weightless senkos, and lipless cranks...but I think it handles weighted texas rigs pretty well too. I wouldn't use this rod on a texas rig weighted with a 1/2 ounce weight...I feel it's a bit too 'soft' for that. But I would use it for anything say...3/8 oz or less and it would be fine. It's a very sensitive rod. I mostly fish light texas rigs where I fish(1/8-3/16 oz), and it handles these size t-rigs very well. I just also own a bcr853 GLX Jig & Worm series that I use for t-rigs 99% of the time, so my 6'9" Helium handles the other purposes that I mentioned earlier...

When I first bought mine, I intended to use it for weightless senkos. It worked great with the senko. Then on one fishing trip where I ended up taking only my He69APC, I found out how versatile this rod was. On that trip, it worked just as good with T-rigged worms with a 1/4oz. weight and heavier dropshot rigs as it is with a senko. I ended up buying another one and use it as my "junk fishing" rod in tournaments. On this rod, I'll fish anything from the two rigs I mentioned before to 3/8oz. jigs, tubes, and 1/2oz. buzzbaits. This rod is properly named as an all purpose casting rod.

I use this rod for fishing weightless senkos. When fishing soft plastics texas rigged, I prefer the 7' Helium in a heavy power.

It is all personal choice and what you feel will work best for you.

Good luck in your selection.

Oh yeah!, is the best spinnerbait rod I ever used since the 6'6" All Star T38X MH. But with weightless Fat Ikas and Senkos is awesome!. Itīs perfect to skip this baits under cover and docks, specially the Ika. The soft tip help the cast with this light baits. For Texas rigs and pitching' I prefer the 7 MH, from LTA of course!.
See you on the water!
