I have to admit I'm not 100% sure that's one of my Kistlers ....... I take and fish with 5 Kistlers and 3 Fenwick Techna AV rods each time and my old brain won't remember.....for sure . In any case, it's a nice Bass:

Ez: Have you taught yourself to 'pitch' a jig yet? If not, give it a try.

Nice fish. I am in the same boat as Ezcue I have yet to catch a jig fish. I need to go out one day and do nothing but jig fishing. Now if I only had a Helium to jig fish with I would be in business

Not sure Dan, lol My wife is getting very tired of tuperware bowls strategically placed around the living room and my standing on a milk crate flinging a jig and trailer across the living room. Seriously, I have been practicing but am not sure I am doing anygood. You know the old saying, "perfect practice makes perfect." I am not sure that my mechaincs are what they should be.

I didn't go as far as you have---I just went out into the yard and practised pitchin' while standing flat-footed. I'd pitch the jig under a bush and learned that way.
Don't get hung-up on being 'perfect', just go fishin' and pitch abd see what happens . Even a misplaced pitch can result in a bite!

SDFD, Buddy you gotta get on some LTA jig fishing. I got a 2-12 on Saturday on my 7'6" hvy, 1000 Scorpion, 50# superbraid combo. (You should) "FEEL WHAT YOU'VE BEEN MISSING"

But see the problem is I wouldn't use the Helium that much because I just don't jig fish. Now if I start jig fishing alot more that I may have to get me one but I would rather get a crankbait rod thet i will use alot more.

Get one of each. LOL Seriously though, since I've started jig fishing more I'd rather pitch a jig all day than anything else. There's just something about the rhythm & precision that does it for me.

Yeah I would like to get one of each, i should have gotten a few at the Flw Championship when they were on sale but i had to get a reel instead. When you are catching fish on flukes and crankbaits you don't wanna fish with anything else.

I've never used one of those. Is it very light weight? Do you know how it compares to a Scorpion 1000 MG?

I tried to post earlier but I guess it didn't work.
I have never used a Scorpion 1000 MG so I can't really compare them. The Scorpion I would say will be lighter than the TDX because it has a magnesium alloy body. I have several TD X's and you won't be disappointed if you get one although if you are looking for a reel I would wait until November and get the new Daiwa Fuego. It also like the Scorpion has a magnesium frame but it will only be 229.95 and after playing around with it at the Flw Championship I think it will be my favorite reel.
