Greetings All,
I need some help choosing a Kistler rod. I have a GLoomis 783C GLX which is rated as a 4 power rod. I'm looking for a rod to handle my flipping and pitching duties. Preferably something non telescoping with a higher power rating otherwise why not just use the GLoomis. I beleive the Kistler Heavy action rods are rated as power 4? If so is that comparable to GLoomis' rating?
I was looking at the LTA line and wanted some input from the forum Here are a few I was eyeing.
HE70HC
HE70XHC
HE76HC
HE76XHC
Thanks in advance for any insights

The HE70XHC is probably my favorite rod, I special order them with the split grip, (personal preference). I use this rod to flip with as well as throw jigs in deep water. This rod will also make a great frog rod. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks Hooksetters for your input.
Can anyone out there tell me what power rating the extra heavy sticks are? Also what are the tips like on the 7' and 7'6" extra heavy rods like? I'll be pitching more than flipping.
Thanks

Phatbass you are correct. I looked it up earlier today at work and noticed my mistake was hoping no one would notice, lol. Thanks for noticing
After some thought and research I've decided on a HE76HC. I'm not a boater and only 5'8" tall but I will find a way to use it

I own numerous Kistlers. Great people to work with. If you are short and don't flip very far from the boat, the HE70XHC is a great rod for 3/8 to 1/2 oz jigs. The Helium series is definately better than the Magnesium series, well worth the extra money. I also own a HE76THC AND A HE711THC. both are great for jigs and carolina rigs. The one thing you will notice right away with the Kistlers, is the ability to feel very subtle bites. They are the best deep water jig rods available as far as i'm concerned. I also own 5 GLX series G Loomis rods. I like them to but they are heavier and not as sensitive. If you peg a lot of 1oz sinkers and other heavier rigs, stick twith the HEXHC line. The G Loomis rods are better with braided line but don't have the feel.
