I own a GLX, GL3, Shimano Crucial, Shimano Magnum Light Fightin Rods (my favorite of them all), and St. Croixs. I am looking for another rod and am interested in the kistler helium series. What is the best rod to get. Baitcaster, heavy line and lures .

If you are looking for a heavy action rod I would look at the he76thc. All the rods you mentioned are good rods made by good companies. But with kistlers you get an excellent rod made by an excellent company. The 7'6 heavy action will be so light you won't even know that it is a flippin' stick you can cast all day and not feel it in your shoulders. If you want to step up look into the helium 2's those rods are the lightest around.

I'd suggest the HE70XHC. This rod is my personal favorite for throwing jigs on heavy line. I use it to fish deep and for flipping as well.

Welcome to Kistler's forums CERILLI.
I'm going in the other direction and recommend either the HE69APC or the HE70MHC. IMO, the Heavy and Extra Heavy rods are too much unless you are pitching heavier jigs or throwing lighter swimbaits. I think the lighter action/power Heliums will serve you better for the 'normal' lures .

Agree with Lightninrod!
My 2 favorites are the He70MHC or He69APC, as long as they're not 2005 models!
I own 3 HE70MHC's and 2 HE69APC's.

Cerilli,
If your main purpose for this rod is flippin & pitchin heavy cover, I would use the HE76xhc, but if you want a good all around rod for heavy lures I would recommend the HE70mhc.
