Looking for a reel for my flippin stick. I fish Northern California lakes and I really dont use the stick to actually flip or pitch. I use the rod to fish big jigs 35'-40' down. I target sunken islands and deep channels in the summer and into the fall looking for that pig that will eventually come through and crunch crawdads and or hopefully my jig. I use 17-20 pound line and I am looking for a reel that will suite this style of fishing. Anyone out there that has any suggestions please ? Good fishn' to all!!!

you might consider the latest Chronarch or Metanium XT (Japanese Domestic Market version of the Chronarch)

That is a good choice. Also check out the Antares which is another Shimano Japan domestic reel.

The Shimano Curado D100 is always hard to beat very small, comfortable, and extremely light makes an effortless day of Flipping and Pitching for me especiallly matched with a Helium Stick.
