I am trying to decide between these two rods, and I am more interested in which one will work better with smaller cranks in open water. The 72 is listed as having a Fast action, while the 69 is Moderate Fast. Lure weight and line weight shows the same, so what will the difference be?

I have both rods and prefer the 6'9" for diving cranks. I prefer the m/f action for treble baits running at depth. The rod handles diving baits from sub-serface down to about 12' very well. I have a couple of the 6'9" Argons rigged with different depth lures. The 7'2" would do the job, but I've found I prefer that rod for lipless cranks. I throw them a lot as a search bait and they will cast a lure a long way, so I can cover a lot of water quickley. The fast tip gives a little advantage in long casts, and affords a bit more leverage when pulling the traps out of light grass. The big difference for me between the two - I fish diving cranks with tip down, traps with tip up. The 7'2" is a little long for fishing tip down, for me.
