Can I change grips?

Dear Kistlero,
I have an 2007-2008 7'0 MH LTX 2, that broke about 6" from the tip so now its a 6'6",........I love the old shark skin grips and wanted to know if y'all could put the old grip from my broken LTX 2 onto a 2010 7' H LTX 2 and remove the new cork grip? If I send you the old rod and buy a new LTX 2, and you swap out the grips and put the older version aka shark skin grip on and remove the newer cork one? Can't wait to hear back from you.
PS I love your rods, especially the Helium LTX 2's,...I have 5 of them and 2 LTA's, thanks for all the hard work and effort you guys put in to making the best fishing rod on the planet!

Nick, I also love the old Shark Skin grips but for two years now, we have been unable to find a supplier that can duplicate our original design. I wish I could tell you YES to your request but for now, the answer is not possible. Sorry but thank you for asking and loving your Kistler Rods.

If I supply the old grip off of my broken rod, is it possible to put it on the new one? I have an old style grip, but I don't have the expertise to remove it and put it on a new helium ltx II. So your saying even if I supply you with the old grip, you cannot put it on a 2010 ltx and remove the cork one? Could a rod smith do it locally or is it impossible?
PS Do you know anyone who has an older grip LTX 7' Heavy for sale?

Nick, it is impossible to reuse the Shark Skin grips and it is nearly impossible to remove the metal rings from the newer HE2 rods without damaging them for any rodsmith. I do however have one He2MHC70 from the early days if you want to purchase it. PM my email if you want it. Sorry I couldn't help you out completely.
