How do you like the LTX?

Postby socal_bassman » 5/18/06 2:51am

I'm quite new to Kistler rods and planning to slowly upgrade my rods to Kistlers. My questions are how do all you LTX owners like that rod? Should I save my money and go with the LTA insead? I currently have the He69APC and absolutely love it, but I'm looking for a rod I can dropshot with now. I've been thinking about the LTX 6'9"M spinning rod or the LTA 6'6"M casting. Any input is appreciated.

For drop - shotting I like the Magnesium drop - shot rod, if that's not in stock, I would go to the graphite plus drop - shot rod. I used the Graphite plus all last year and absolutely loved it. As far as the LTX vs LTA's go I love the LTX but cannot fit more than one into my budget right now. The LTA's will meet every need you may have and are easier on the wallet.

I have several LTX rods and I won't trade them for anything in the world. They are super light and super sensitive. I know a few guys out there don't like the grips on them but once you use them for a few trips you will fall in love with them. I can say that if you have the money then by all means get the LTX rod. :D

Hello ,

I think that you have recieved some excellent advice to this point . The LTX is a superb rod. I had never used a split grip rod before and it did take a little time to adjust. It is amazing at how light and sensitive the rod is and would definitely recommend it. However, I love my LTA rods and still use them just as much as the LTX rods.
I personally use 2 rods for my drop shot work - the LTA 7'M spinning and the graphite plus 6'9" M drop shot special. Both are top notch for this technique and you would enjoy either. I do use the LTA for split shot rigs and light plastics also. I hope this helps.

Good fishing,

Demetrius

I'd just like to thank you all for your input. I just checked out both models at the store today and I am leaning towards the LTX.
