Mate to my LTX 6'9" MH spinning rod

Postby HDMotorcop » 5/16/06 9:52pm

I just recently bought a Helium II 6'9" MH spinning rod and am curious what some of you think would be an ideal matching reel. I've got some ideas of what I want to put on it, but am intrested to se what others would suggest, including Trey.

Thanks, I'll be watching out for responses.........................

I have a quantum energy PTI-A 20 on mine and have tried my old trusty spirex and like both of them on the rod. I think the PTI A10 would be a little lighter.

I recently bought a He2m69s and matched it up
with a Daiwa Certate. This is an amazing reel
but costly. ($359) It took me a while but found
two on ebay for $250 ea. plus shipping.

I have a Helium 2 LTX Medium and another Medium-Heavy rod. I have two Shimano Stella 3000FB reels for both of those rods and they are incredible reels. I would recommend these reels to anyone who wants a very smooth quiet reel. They are expensive but worth the money. The quantum reels are very good too. For lighter creek and river trout fishing I use a light action Helium LTA with a Stella 1000FB. Good luck finding the right reel.

Hello,

Congratulations on your new rod - it is awesome. I would highly recommend the Daiwa TD SOL. It is a top end reel that you do not have to take out a personal loan to pay for.

Good fishing,
