Trey of Clifford?
As I have stated in previous posts, I no longer have any where to look at your new rods, Mg's in particular, so I am having to buy them sight un seen.
As I have also stated, I swim a lot of jigs and am looking to replace a few old rods with new Kistlers. Not having the opprotunity to look at a couple of the 7' Mg's I have had questiond about their actions.
I was at Cabels yesterday (and of course, no Kistlers, I was informed they will not be carrying them at that particular store) However I did get to play with some of the All Star Titanium rods. I know you have a background with All Star and that is why I am posing this question. I know all rod manufacturers designate certain lure weights to specific power rods and it seems none of them rate them the same and that is what creates the confusion. Any how, I was looking at a 7' Heavy action All Star Titanium rod with a max lure rating of 1 oz, this rod seemed to be the same power as my med-heavy Fenwicks which I currently prefer for swiming jigs which are rated a maximum of 1 1/2 oz.
My question is, how close does your Mq carolina rig rod match the action and power of the All Star I mentioned, Because if it is the same, that is my new swim jig rod, and I will take two.
P.S. I was at the Northwest outdoor show this past weekend and had the opprotunity to look at several Setyr rods. Nice rods, but priced the same As Kistlers and weighed considerbly more. That is why you need a rep up here, we want a "perfect rod" for our money, not a knock off. To the point, I spent a good 10-15 min's in there booth looking at their rods and not one of the three (two of whom were not with other customers) reps even asked if I needed help or had any questions. It may have been the Helium visor I was wearing but I guess I will never know. And that has been the #1 reason I have been drawn to Kistler products. I have never found a rod manufacurer (let alone owner) who was as accessable as Trey and his right hand man Clifford have been. And that is why I will continue to buy and promote Kistler products every chance I get.
