rod comparison?

Postby razorwill » 7/12/04 1:46pm

question on the graphite plus series. you have 2 rods, both 7'6" one peice, one is called the carolina rig and the other a flipping stick, both listed as heavy action. i assume the caroling rig has more flex at the tip than the flipping rod. am i correct on this? does the carolina rig have enough backbone to pull fish out of grass, or is it too tipsy for flipping? one last question, ive asked before im sure, but in the helium hta series, what rod would you recommend, with no dealer near, what is the difference between heavy, extra heavy, extra extra heavy? i want a rod that compares to my loomis glx 7' heavy... however i would like a 7'6" rod. i use the loomis for flipping and for carollina rigs, it works great for both. what keestler rod would compare to that rod for both applications? thank you

i have the 6'9" helium hta right now and love the rod, i use it for worm fishing and small jigs and tubes. great rod for sure...

Hello razorwill to me the carolina rig rod that I have is the one piece 7'6 it has a slightly smaller blank that the one piece 7'6 flipping rod it is a little more forgiving that a flipping rod. It has a great action and plenty of backbone to pull fish from grassbeds. I will guarantee that you'll love it along with any other kistler that you fish with or even pick up. The HE70HC Helium is going to be real close to your current G- Loomis stick but I promise when you get the Helium you will no longer want to fish with your G- Loomis. Hope I was able to be of some help.

SD,

I've become like a brother to you, no? When do I get one, too? :D Just kidding.

I am ordering a He76HC myself when I come back from vacation at Disneyworld in a week or so. I'll be in Kissimmee next week but fishing is not on the intinerary. :(
