My rod got here!!!.....and it's broke

Postby Duce » 1/28/06 9:28am

Was at work yesterday and the UPS truck pulled up. Now we get deliveries everyday but I knew my rod should be here soon. The driver pulled out a couple boxes then went back in and brought out a long white tube....YES, then as he approached I noticed one end of the shipping tube broke, #@%$&, it was the butt end so maybe we're good, that end looked good, pulled it all the way out of the tube and the tip was broke, BUMMER, so needless to say its on its way back to Texas. Who covers that anyway Trey? Anyway, patiently waiting in Maryland for my rod and spring.

I just recieved my Mag TS 7' Med crankbait rod on wednesday and the tip was broken also . I called Cindy at Kistler an she is sending me a new rod, and said I shoud have it by next Tuesday.

I was so happy to see that white rod tube at my front door when I got home.

I too will wait patiently. Think Kistlers are worth it. I am a die hard Helium LTA man, but wanted to try out a Mag.

Broken Rods in Shipping

Postby Big Popper » 1/28/06 5:47pm

I to have had rods broken in shipping, I can tell you that you might think the carriers take good care of the packages when they go thru the door, not so. It's just like the old commercial with the gorilla and the Samsonite suitcase. If anybody remebers that one.

It really helps when ur buddies are UPS drivers and fishermen also, they know when they're bringing u rods so they take care of them. That's is one thing knock on wood I've never had a problem with.

Call and talk to either Clifford or Cindy and they will get you fixed up. Sometime UPS will just throw the tubes around and they break.

When Steve called me to say his Mag TS arrived broken my heart dropped as much as his did. We don't have it happen often but it does happen and probably one of the biggest risks in shipping is the carrier. Thanks for your patience guys, it is appreciated as is your business. George
