Cal is exactly correct. Couldn't have said it better myself. Everyone has thrown these words around so much that many fishermen are confused. Some use the words Medium action rod for the description of their rod choice. Well, what they mean is Medium power and moderate action most likely. Anyway, don't let it get you confused.
