I currently own an older LTA 7' heavy. I am considering buying a 7'3" heavy carbon steel that I've found. Which do you guys think would be better for toads over heavy weeds? Thanks!

I would go with the Magnesium Jig-N-Toad rod. I have a couple of them and they are great for frogs.

There are many factors in choosing the best toad rod. You must decide on whether you will be throwing in the thickest of cover or open water. A strong MH power works better in open water where as a H or XH works best in thick cover with matching lines. That 7'3" Carbon Steel is great for thick cover but those Helium rods are sure nice and light for all day casting.
