Kistler Drop Shot rod

Postby baymud » 1/13/10 12:13pm

I don't own any Kistlers. I have heard good things and have some Bass Pro Shops gift certificates from Xmas. Any recommendations on a drop shot rod from the Alton Jones series.
Would you guys recommend 6'9" ML Mod or 7'0" M Mod. I'm not a big drop shotter, and plan on working on it this year. Thanks for the input.

6'9 is such the perfect length for a drop shot rod. The tip section of the Magnesium TS I use is awesome in burying light wire hooks into the jaws of Great Lakes Smallmouth yet still protecting 6lb Flurocarbon.

Depending on how light of line you plan to use will reflect on which rod to choose. If you to the lighter stuff , then get the MGDSFWML69S.

If you go average weights, then choose the MGTBWWMH610S.

If they are out of these models, then go with the current MgFS69S which is the best of both worlds.

have fun,

MgFS69S is the only one in stock. I generally fish 6lb flourocarbon on my spinning rigs.
Were the other models discontinued? Guess I was thinking MH was a little overkill, but that is probably due to inexperience.

Thanks,

I plan on using my micro magnesiumTS MacMag70MHC for my dropshot rig in the 2010 tournaments. I am confidant that this will work for me.

McMag610MS

Once we get these in stock next month, I will be using it for light drop shotting. It will be the best choice for you.
