I've been using Kistler rods for about 4 years now and could not be happier. A few weeks ago someone must have thought they would like to feel some ...

Would this suffice?

Hello to all. Long time fisherman, new to this forum. I just purchased a Kistler magnesium jig rod (Alton Jones signature 'football head' jig rod) would this 6'10" rod work well enough to use as a swimbait rod? As a new boat owner, ($$!) i will be able to purchase a new swimbait rod a few months after the upcoming fishing season. Thanks in advance, looking forward to my stay here.

It really depends on what size swim baits you are going to chunk. If it is the average small size, then yes, that 6'10" MH will work fine. But, if you chunk the larger, heavier sizes, then you should go with a longer heavy power rod such as the MGADPT78T

Thank you Trey. That's a great help. I will use it to swim 3 1/2 inch wild eye swim shad by Storm. At only 7/16, they are within your guidelines. I'm certainly going to consider your suggestion when i do purchase a swimbait specific rod.
