Kistler rods bought out by Shimano

Postby blindhog5453 » 12/7/09 8:51am

I was the Cabela's store in Ft. Worth last night. I commented to one of the salesman that their Kistler rod selection was a little on the weak side. He said that there was a rumor running around at his store that Kistler had been bought by Shimano. I told him that he was dead wrong, but wanted to list it on this forum for others to hear.

Well that is about the 12th rumor of being bought out. I should be very wealthy and sneaky for selling to so many other companies over the last 11 years.

Oh yes, now Shimano has bought Kistler Rods. Isn't it funny to hear the rumors? Thanks guys for giving us free press year after year. LOL

That is funny right there. When you have a gerat product in Kistler Custom Rods seems everybody wants to start rumors about the company. The fishing forums are full of them from time to time.
What is great is seeing the other rod companies following the innovations that Trey Kistler has been using in every rod he makes. Look at how many rod companies have "copied" Kistler split handles and hook keepers. Being "copied" just shows how great of a rod Kistler makes.

Gary hit the nail on the head. It is great to be involved with a product/company everyone else has to follow or copy to keep up.
