MgMWCRH70 vintage

I just picked up a factory reconditioned MgMWCRH70. I noticed it is slightly different than other ones I've seen. It has a darker tone to the blank rather than the brighter almost emerald green. Also the guide frames are chrome/stainless and not black. The guides are the single stay type except for the one closest to the reel. The main cork is also shorter by maybe 1/2 - 3/4 inch. The seat also says Smart Touch rather than having the Kistler name on it.

None of this is a big deal as everything looks great and the rod action feels awesome. I'm just wondering if this is one of the earlier models when they first were released. I hope they were just minor changes and the blank itself is comparable.

Any info would be great. Thanks! :)

You picked up one of the 2006 year models! Lucky guy! Cherish that year because many guys would fight you for theirs if you tried to take it from them. Enjoy your toy!

That's great news, thank you! I feel really good about my purchase now. Went out and whacked a few bass with it today, it performed great! 8)

I just got my carolina rod and only had a few chances to use it got 3 fish on it the rod is so light and sensitive wow. I have it paired to my chronarch magnesium 50. What got me hooked was a guy here where I live is a kistler user, I think he is a rep? He loaned me two LTA's for a weekend and that was it i was sold my friend tried one but didn't use it long cause he didn't want to damage them. Im definitly gonna get a few more kistlers.
