Newbie Trolling Motor Question

Postby dksu » 5/22/05 12:56pm

Hi guys, I just purchased my first trolling motor from Minn Kota. I bought the Endura 30lb trust model. I run a seahawk sport 400 inflatable boat. My question is what battery should i buy? I want to purchase a battery that will last me all day. But I don't want a battery that is too heavy for my inflatable. I mostly fish on reservoirs. Also, what charger do you recommend? Can anyone please provide links to a battery and a charger that I need to buy? I really have no clue..... Thanks in advance! :D

I have a Pond Prowler battery that only weighs 15 lbs  and it has worked fine for 6 years now. The problem is they no longer make it :( .

I would get a gel battery if possible as you won't have to worry about acid spills as they don't use acid and water like 'regular' batteries

As for a charger, I just got an automatic model from Sears if I remember correctly.
