I have 6 Kistler rods, 3 Magnesiums and 3 LTAs, and all I can say is wow!! I fish Basschamps South Division and these rods are tough enough to hand ...

Helium rods....none better in my opinion.

I love my Helium rods.
I bought the 6'9" all purpose last year and recently picked up the 6'3" for skipping docks and low hanging trees.
I had also purchased a loomis GLX over the winter and now it is up for sale.
I don't mind paying a bit more for quality, but for my money, the Helium series is the top of the line.
The only problem that I experienced was a stripped reel seat that I sent back to Trey.
He promptly sent me back the newer model that has never had a problem.
I like to clamp down my reels so there is NO movement when I set the hook...

Thanks again to Kistler for an absolutley awesome product...

Welcome to the Kistler family. Helium rods are the best for my tournament fishing and I am in the process of ordering more.

Keep up the good work Kistler staff...

Hi guys,

I agree on the Helium LTA, I have two HE70MHC, they are the lightest, most sensitive rods I have ever used. In fact just won a tournament using this rod, casting senkos to inside weedlines, the fish were not hitting hard, I am convinced I may have missed bites if I had been using any other rod. I also have a 6'6" spinner bait special, a 6'6" Texas rig worm special medium, and a graphite series 6' 6" medium heavy, all of which Trey recommend after telling him what I was looking for, each rod has worked perfectly for the purpose intended. Thanks Trey.

Customer Service

Postby kistlero » 6/16/04 12:44pm

Guys, I appreciate all of the nice comments. We certainly try our best to resolve any issue that might arise with regards to our rods. We will always try to work out any issue until our customer is satisfied.

Kistler Rods will continue to push the envelope with service and technology in order to provide the serious angler with the best available.

Just a note on the reel seats....

Many reels have a smaller size or differently shaped base which cause the reel to feel loose when fishing. This is not the fault of the rod reel seat, but rather the reels fault. The solution is to add some material to the reel's base in order to fill the reel seat up and create a tighter fit. Screwing down too tightly on the screw hood could cause problems down the line.

I have tested all of the reel seats including the Fuji and I believe we have a better product now with our new Smart Touch designed reel seat.

Good Luck on the water,

Trey Kistler

I had my Shimano Calais reel's spool release bar 'bang' the reel seat on another(NOT a Kistler) rod so I just placed a layer or two of electrical tape on the reel seat to raise the reel up a little.
