Kistler Blanks?

Postby Sherman1100 » 2/13/09 10:53am

I got on Ebay earlier to check out two Kistler Blanks, I believe they were crank bait models. Are these real blanks or knockoffs? A friend of mine called me all excited about them, he knows i fish Kistlers, saying he might bid on them. Any advice on whether or not they are real. I don't know if Kistler offers blanks or not. I told him to buy ones from the store but he's always looking for a deal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The blanks on Ebay are original Kistler blanks.

These are truly Kistler blanks from the past 10 years. We decided to let everyone get their hands on a few. The Ebay store is an authorized store for Kistler Rods. Most of the blanks are samples or seconds but all will fish great!

Hello "Sherman 1100" I read your post about Kistler blanks on Ebay.
I bought some and I am pleased to say they are truly Kistler blanks and they are terrific. I've made several rods from these blanks and I am very proud of them.

I bought a he2 blank off ebay and i have never built a rod before and was wondering what the stuff is on the blank it looks like some kind of wrapping is this suppose to come off or does this have to be sanded

Actually, this texture is created after construction and is usually sanded off by the factory, BUT, we proved that by not fully sanding, the blank strength is at least 25% stronger. Leave it alone and go fishing to see for yourself. Have fun!

blank finished

Postby chris_b » 3/31/09 4:28pm

Trey,
Just thought I'd let ya know I've finished my first blank, it is the most sensitive rod i've ever laid my hands on (He2) I'm quite proud of this I think it turned out very well for a first time. After fishing with this I thinkk the He2's will be worth every penny
Thanks for making a great rod, Chris
