LTX MH for Super Spook??

Postby txlive » 1/21/09 10:17am

Anyone use an LTX MH for throwing full-size (7/8 oz) Super Spooks, preferrable in saltwater? I don't believe the Medium action has the backbone or fast enough tip to handle these baits after playing with one at Cabelas, but a MH just seems a little overkill eventhough it is rated for such.

For the Super Flukes I would suggest a He266MHC or a He269MHC for it will have the tip you need to work the "walk the dog" presentation and because of the shorter length you will be able to easily work that presentation. Hope this helps!

Also, the 2009 LTX Medium powered blanks have a little more meat behind them when compared to the 08 models. You'll have to check one out because I would stick with a Med instead of a MH. We will have some to shake at the March fishing show in Houston at the GRB Center.
