Fishing Rods

i'm looking for two new pitchn rods to put on my chronarch mg50's i just purchased. One will be used for 1/4-3/8oz jigs and tx rigs in sparse to medium cover,and the other for a little heavier cover and most likely heavier lures(1/2-3/4oz). I live in southeast texas and fish everything from boats docks, timber,brush, and heavy matts.

I was looking at the 7MHxf helium for my light rod. Not sure if this rod has a enough backbone?

as for my heavier rod i've been leaning toward the 7'6" H.

Any suggestions?

Hello Chris! For the lighter rod I would suggest the He70MHC, this rod has plenty of back bone and a fast tip for instant hook setting power! And the He76HC is my personal favorite for you can pitch anything from wacky worms to 1 oz jigs in heavy cover and be able to turn some heads! Ryan makes some really good suggestions for the match ups on the the Shimano Mgs.

If you want super light for sparse cover you may also want to look at the 7ft Helium LTX II in medium heavy. I ran this exact setup on Tournaments all last year and it was sweet. Never got tired of throwing that bait, it is also a great rod for throwing weightless baits.

For heavier applications the 7'6" Heavy Helium LTA has all of the backbone you will need. If you really want a super heavy stick, I'd suggest you go with the XHC. Paired with the Shimano Mg it is an unbelievable set up - although maybe a little overkill. But if you are throwing 1oz+ baits through the heavy stuff regularly you might prefer the heavier action of the two.
