Fishing Rods

Here is my story.

About 2 or 3 years ago I was very heavily into competitive fishing. I'm mostly a finesse guy by choice but in tournament, the jig n pig is my bread and butter. As the season was winding down, I started to develope a serious pain in my right elbow. Almost excruciating and it was effecting on the water. I couldn't pitch or flip. I was at one of the last events of the season when it really handcapped me to the point I considered going to the hospital.

As luck would have it, I realized that the rod given to me as a gift from my partner had a weight balancing system on the handle. I never thought to check it. Well, I did and was shocked to find 5oz of brass weights loaded in there. This was no doubt the reason for my problem.

I got through the season barely and one day while browsing BFHP I someone responded to my offer of a trade for yamamoto baits. He offered a He70MC. I jumped on it and once I got back on the water, I never put the rod down. I honestly believe my switching to and relying on that rod, which is no doubt the lightest, most balanced rod I've ever used to that point, was the key to my resurrgence and end of my elbow problems. I've fished pain free for the better part of 2 seasons and this has helped me in deciding to get the word out about Kistler rods.

I like finding and trying out 'new things' like my F150 Lightning, even to starting drag racing at the 'tender' age of 62 and was able to run it in 12.531 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

I try out new tackle as you might imagine. I read Tackle Tour's review of the Helium rod and that's all it took. I ordered one(HE70MC) sight-unseen. I fished with it and caught 8 Buzzbait Bass in the heat of the summer of 2003 that first day. I immediately ordered my second one and the rest is 'history'

I too appreciate the lightness of them and my aged joints thank me.

Likewise. After enough positive feedback from Lightinrod and Sdesign, I caved in. I got one from my family as a gift for my birthday to pair with a Daiwa Alphas that I just bought. I'll be getting another soon for pitching and flipping, and eventually a crankbait rod hopefully in time for spring.

Craig: Is that an earlier version of a Kistler rod in that pic or is that what you used before you found the Heliums?

Two years ago, I started fishing the Fishers of men tournament trail, Minnesota division, which Kistler rods is kind enough to support. At a pre-tournament meeting a Helium LTA was on display. The first time I picked up the Helium I fell in love with it, the feel and the light weight was like no other rod. After talking with Trey, I just had to become part of the family. I am the proud owner of numerous Kistler rods, which have helped me win lots of money over the past two years.

I am on my first Kistler Helium - HE69APC - and will add many more of them as time progresses. I learned about the LTA's through coverage of Bassmasters and FLW, read more on TackleTour, Bass Fishing Home Page and Texas Fishing Forum and made my final decision after reading this website and forum.

My wife gave me the rod for Christmas and I took mine out to a local pond, shortly therafter it was love at first bite. You know how those cold water bites can be real soft--I felt this bite and set the hook on a scrappy 1 pounder and later followed up with another 3 pounder.

As director for Big Bass Fun Tournaments (BBFT) and a confessed internet junkie I plan on spreading the word about the great products and good people of Kistler rods, I wish them much success.

After reading the reviews on TackleTour.com I knew I had to have one, or two, or three...

hello all I'm new to this forum...I bought two of these rods this year...the 6'9"APC and 7'6" flippin stisck I havent used them yet but they have to be the lightest rods I've ever held...I think they are gonna be great...
I found out about the LTAs through NYBASS forum...EW was talking about them and I had too see for my self..I can't wait too try them out!!

Welcome to Kistler Bob and watch out for that Reno guy; he chases after some nasty loookin' fish .

I fished this past March on the big O with Jim Fowler a FLW Pro and he was using them. He is a good friend of Scott Martin and I believe that is where he got them. The rod felt great as soon as I picked it up and I bought one on the spot and I also have purchased one since I got back home. Thanks for making such a great rod Trey..

When I joined the VA-EAST Fishers of Men trail I first heard about Kistler Rods. I won a Creature Bait Special at one meeting, used the next day, and have since purchesd three more Kistlers, one of which is an LTA. They're everything they're cracked up to be, period.
