Jig Fish

Postby Ezcue » 12/17/04 9:49pm

Flew in from Detroit this afternoon and the eather was so nice I had to give it a shot. Started with a 1/4oz. Rattle trap in Crawfish, caught 3 at a pound and under. They slowed down after 4:00 P.M. so I switched to a jig. The fish in my area have been on red the last couple of times out. So, on a whim, I tied on a blk/red 5.8 oz jig with a Zoom Tomato trailer.
Second cast, I felt a "tick" as I let the jig fall...set the hook and here is the result.

The rig: Kistler Helium HE69APC, Daiwa Alpha, Seagaur Carbon Pro 12#,
Jungle Jig 5/8oz.

Thanks for looking. [/img]

Ez,
Thanks for your riggin tech on the BoomBoom Tube and Sweet Beaver. Great catch, by the way how you like your Alpha? I'm currently using the Daiwa TDX AirMetal and I'm thinking of getting the Alpha or the Chronarch MG, what's your thoughts?

Thanks
Jack

Thanks fellas.

SD, lol, I would love a 2005 version....just haven't seen the catalog yet.
And I am hoping for some "deals" on the 04 models at a couple local tackle shops!!

Senko28, np on the tips, I am by know means an expert just passing on what works for me. As to the Alphas, it is light, sits very low in the reel seat, palms like a dream and cast like nothing I have every held. It is a little noisy on the cast but that is the ONLY thing close to a negative I can say about the reel. It is a killer match-up with the HE69APC and makes one light weight, long casting, fish catchin combo!!!

Boone, I would think the first place you will see any of the 2005 stuff would be right here at the Kistler sight. I haven't seen it yet, may be a good question for Trey or Clifford.

Regarding reels

Postby earthworm77 » 12/18/04 3:35pm

I use the Scorpion and Antares exclusively but SD gave me a little nudge to check out the Pixy.......oh man have I been dreaming about that one for about 3 weeks now.
