2007 vs. 2008 Kistler LTA differences

Postby banditbasser » 11/18/08 3:15pm

I am looking at getting another 7'6" X-heavy LTA. My question is I have a choice between a 2007 and a 2008, what are the differences and which one should I get? I assume the ones I have now are pre 2008 since I have had them for a while. Love the rods, can't wait to get a couple more.

Reel seat changed to a Fuji but not the same type that is on my loomis or crucial rods. Foam endcap replaced with pressed cork. Something changed in the guide material I think.

Thanks for the reply. Same blank I assume? I don't know what to get now, I like the ones I have now but I have never held a 2008.

I've not heard blank change mentioned but my information sources are few.

Bandit,

I have both 2007 and 2008 he76xhc and I prefer the 2007 model. They are both great rods and perform equally, but the 2007 feels lighter and more comfortable to hold. As far as the blanks, I dont know for sure if they are the same but my 08 blank appears slightly larger in diameter.

MN, great reply, thanks. I was kind of leaning that way, the old if it ain't broke don't fix it mentality. And also that way it will match what I already have.
