Help in Final Rod Choice Please

Postby Steve » 11/14/08 7:56am

I've narrowed my choices to a LTA 7XHeavy or the LTA 7'6Heavy Telescopic.

Can someone tell me the weight of these rods and describe the tip of each.

I will be using this along side my Gloomis MBR 844 GLX to fish Frogs, Texas rigs, C-Rigs and Jigs.

I'm hoping to get something with a little more power then the 844 but I don't need a baseball bat and I need a soft tip.

The Telescopic rod can be with me anytime in the boat so it would get more opportunity for use if I like the rod. My history with 1 telescopic rod was not very positve but it was a low qualty rod.

The 7Xheavy is a lenght I like a bit more then most 7'6 rods I've fished but I can only store so many of these in my boat so I have ot make choices about what goes and stay.

Thanks for any help. The weight and tip will really help. I assume the rods have similar strong backbones.

The LTA 7'6 XH has a fast tip and will handle 1/2 to 2 ounce lures. I use the 7'6 XH rod for all of my jig fishing techniques.
