Fishing Rods

Just got my first Kistler after fishing in a Pro-Am. My partner used them and WOW he sure put it to those fish.
Will be considering getting others but not sure what to get. Kistler has SOOOOOO many choices to chose from. I would appreciate any and all suggestions as to possible rods.

Glad to hear you were impressed with the Kistler rods during your first experience (although I must say I am not suprised). If you are looking to start your Kistler arsenal a little at a time, I would post again with the specific applications you most commonly fish. When I first started buying Kistlers, I bought several Graphite Plus series rods and Magnesium series rods. They are all awesome and very cost effective for the quality of product you get to use. I would not overlook the Argon or Carbon steel lines. I love my Mag TS rods too. I also have Helium LTX rods. They are more expensive, but the rod it so light and sensitive. I prefer the split grip because it fits my hand better, but the graphite plus handles are comfortable too. I know this post doesn't provide specfic help, but all the rods are great. Good luck...will do anything I can to be more specific.

My plan is to replace several Shimano rods with Kistler. The problem is which of several excellant rods to I chose from. Too much candy in the store.

The Shimano's I currently have are all "Crucial" and I have no problem with them I just may have found a better product to use.

Suggestions for a crankbait rod has been the
Magnesium Crankbait Composite Fiberglass/Graphite 7' Med Fishing Rod. Other suggestions are welcome.

Suggestions for a Spinnerbait rod has been the Helium LTA 6' 3" Medium Heavy All Purpose Casting Fishing Rod and the Helium LTA 7' Medium Heavy Casting Fishing Rod.

Suggestions for a Worm/jig replacement have been the Helium LTA 7' Medium Heavy Casting Fishing Rod and the Helium LTA 7' Heavy Casting Fishing Rod.

The nice thing is that some have overlapping uses.

Any and all suggestions aew welcome.

What size crankbaits are you wanting to throw? Small, Medium, or Deep divers?

The 7' LTA MH is an awesome rod. I use it for throwing a jig or big worm in the summer. I have let a couple of "( - - blocked - - )" use that rod and they have ordered one for themselves.

You will not be disappointed with any of the Kister rods. I have rods in the graphite, Mg, and the LTA. I have been very pleased with them all. My newest and favorite rod is the Mg chatterbait rod.

That is a great pic for a crank rod. In the past I have used the 7' Mg Composite to crank the DDeep stuff, and the same rod but in the 6'6" to fish shallow-medium cranks. The 6'6" rod also throw spinnerbaits like a dream.

Like I stated, that is a great pic, but you may want to look into the new Argon series of crankbait rods. Everything I have read/heard about these blanks is awesome. I really like that they are coming out with a 7'9" that is designed for those big DDeep cranks.

You can't go wrong with any of the models.

I, as others have mentioned, love the 7' Mg composite graphite/ glass cranking rod for all sorts of cranks: Rapala DT3FATSS, jerkbaits, Strike King Red Eye Shads, etc...Just an awesome rod, with enough flex to keep the hooks in the fish, and muscle to get it to the boat or bank!

At first the bulkiness puzzled me, but even the Mrs. swears it's lighter than my Mg Chatterbait rod. I also use the Mg Chatterbait for 3/8-1/2oz. jigs with trailers, and it has put a lot of keepers in the livewell.

These two will serve you well for starters, and then you can acquire others along the way.

Be careful, it can be addictive, once you start buying Kistlers.

I use a HE2LTX in medium/Heavy for T-rig worm fishing. For Cranks I use a LTA medium/heavy.
