Couple more tube fish

Postby Ezcue » 11/21/04 10:03pm

Went out again today, around 11:30. Started a little slow until I moved to a pond we have not fished a lot. I was fishing cover(deadfalls extending out from the bank). The pond is ultra clear and as I was working the Reaction Innovations tube along one of the deadfalls I saw a fish shoot out from under the log. I stopped the tube and so did he. He moved in a little closer, I twitched it once and he hammered it. Weighed in at 3lbs 11ozs. I fished all the way around the pound to the far end of the dam where a big water oak hangs over the pond. THere is also a big deadfall that runs down the bank under the branches of the big oak. It looked real fishy so I pitched the tube down the bank and worked it back by the log. As I got it about 20ft from the bank, felt a tick and set...he spit it out, yack!!! I reeled in, fixed the tube and tossed it back down the bank, working it very slow, felt the bump again, set the hook and he started tail walking out towards deeper water. GOt him lnaded and weighed, 4lbs 2ozs. I caught 4 other fish on the day but they were dinks, a pound or less. I am farily new with the tube fishing deal but have been impressed with their ability to catch fish. The rig, same as yesterday...Kistler Helium HE69APC/ Shimano Scorpion 1001/Seagaur CarbonPro 12lb/ Reaction Innovations 4" tube Watermelon/Green Pumpkin.

Thanks for looking.

What a combo: a Helium rod, a 100% f/c line, a golf course, a good bait, and a smart Basser equal's some gorgeous Bass 8) .
