KSM66 opinions?

Postby Blister72 » 5/21/08 9:39am

Morning all,

I see that the KSM66 Graphite Plus Spinning Rod is one of the May/ June specials, and would love to replace an old, heavy (lots of metal accents), two-part Rhino rod with this.

The length is perfect for small Rapalas, Rooster Tails, and Senkos, but I wonder if the blank is HUGE, like my Mg composite graphite/ glass "crankbait" rod, or thin and more user friendly, like my Mg "Chatterbait" blank.

I rarely use spinning gear, but this paired with my bulletproof Rhino RSP3 reel could be a slick lil' combo.

Any info would be great, as I have the "green light" from the Mrs., and since it is a sale price...she is proud of me.

6'6" or 6'9"...

P.S. Why can't the 6'9" be on sale, why oh why? Everyone seems to LOVE it for shakey head, tubes, and other worming tactics.

Any chance I could get THAT one at the sale price?

Not this month. We have a few extra of the 6'6" rods in stock so we wanted to offer these to our newsletter members. Watch next month for another sweet deal. Maybe not as sweet as this one, but a deal you can't pass up. Enjoy!

Okay, I'm sold!

Alright, I guess the 6'6" will have to do, besides I like that length and action anyway, as mentioned earlier. I just hope the blank is narrow, like my Mg "Chatterbait" graphite rod.

I sure wish we had a store nearby that carried a variety of your rods, so I could get a "feel" for them hands on.

It looks like in the pic with the senko and crankbait, the blank is just about as wide as the senko, so it should work for me.

Thanks again, I'm off to snatch it up! :)

Yes Blister72, the KSM66 is slightly narrower than the Senko Special and very light in weight. Awesome action and the perfect length for target casting and finessing. Hope this helps! :D

Yes indeed, thank you.

Thanks for the reply Ryan. It does help indeed, but it's already paid for, shipped, and on its way. I couldn't resist the sale price.

It'll be perfect for panfishing too! Bring on the crappie slabs.

Kistler's service and staff are amazing, which may be why I keep coming back for more Kistler gear VS. any other brand out there.

Again, thank you all very much.
