Last month I fished a BFL tourney on the Red River and well it turned into an adventure from the start. First of all they call it the Red River for a reason...the water is always stained, but with all the rain there had been the river was high...high current..trolling motor was a useless tool if you were in the current. to sum up the description of the river...it should have been named the Mud River. While i was prefishing i finally found a place i could throw a frog around a little. about the third cast there was some movement in the floating weeds...i threw back out there and WHAM...big blow up. I set the hook hard and the fight was on...this guy was fighting and buried it's self in some more weeds...i yanked it out of there with my Kistler Jig N' Toad Special rod. I finally got it to the boat and this is what it was
I now call that rod the Gator Tamer..the same rod did grab me Big Bass for the event the next day. So thank you Kistler for making a rod that i can land anything with!!
