LTA 69APC Baitcast Rod

Postby Ghost » 4/17/08 3:00pm

I know the newer version of the 6'9" MH is available now, the 69MHC.

Would there be a very big difference from these 2 rods? I was thinking of getting the 69APC, since that is what this store has. Or is the newer 69MHC that much better than the 69APC? Are the blanks the same?

Is the sensitivity still good on the older model & is this a good rod?

I've asked a couple different questions about the LTA, & now I understand that there is a new model, which I didn't know about till now. I thought the 69APC was the new model, but a previous model.

Those who own the 69APC, has this been a good baitcast rod for you?

Thank you

both models are grate rod's you can use for most every thing you do with very little difference the new model has a little more back bone the reel seat has molded finger grip that makes it lay in your hand very comfatable I promise you cant go wrong with either one . after you use it for a bit you will be blown away how you can feel the difference between a fish and the rock on the bottom

Charles - I am a little disappointed though in that the HE69APC, although a little less heavy had a great range of 1/8 to 3/4 oz and was a bit faster as well?

I was actually looking to pick up another HE69APC. I'm sure the new rod is great but the 69APC really hit the sweet spot for me.

Some stores are still advertising them on websites (ship direct from Kistler).

Any blanks left? This has become of my favorite rods over the last 2-3 years. Hate to see it go. :(

rbenash, would you like to buy the one I have? I've used it once so far. I'll sell for $200 plus shipping.

PM if interested.

No problem, but please don't get me wrong, the 69APC is a very good rod, the one time I had a chance to try it out.

I wasn't aware of a new version of the 6'9" LTA & bought the APC. I'll be using it more once the weather get better.

No, this is one of the rods that is always with me. Shame they discontinued it. Pretty much fell into a sweet spot for me and river smallmouth fishing. So now there are two. Wish I could get a pair of plain blanks or knew which were used so I could build another pair with short handles for in the kayak.
