graphite plus medium rod?

Postby crazychris » 4/15/08 11:29am

i am looking for a spinning rod that will allow me to fish 1/2 oz jiggs...i already bought a helium lta casting rod and right now i must settle for a graphite plus rod...i notice a particular rod KSRMS7... # Action: fast
# Power: medium
# Lure Weight: 1/4 to 3/4 oz
# Line Weight: 10 to 17 lb
# Line Guides: 6 plus the tip
# Length: 7'
# Handle: 7"
# IM7 Graphite
other rods(magnesium, helium lta and ltx) with these specifications are rated medium-heavy..this one is rated medium...could it be a mistake in the site?....does anyone know why is it rated as a medium rod? thank you for your help...i'm not used to soo many specifications....

Sorry we couldn't get to you quicker. We are just a little busy serving other customers and then spending time with our family. We are doing our best. Thank you for the patience.

Fortunately, I am in the office very early this am to address your urgent request. So, here goes, the KSRMS7 is not the rod you need, but rather the KSSMHS7, which you can order direct from our office because it is a specialty rod not listed on the site yet. If you want to try a 6'9" model, go with the KFWTS69.

Sometimes the specs listed are not as easy to explain but if you are looking for a GP rod on the heavier side for chunking heavier weights, then stick to these two models, if you still want a lot of flex and wippyness, then the KSRMS7 will do fine.

If you need more details, you should call Ryan here at the office and he will fix you up.

thank you mr kistler! this is a good example why your rods are soo popular, it's the people behind them. i am not fortunate enought to be an American citizen but i was fortunate enought to work for two summers in ohio, chicago and alaska. i will return in america next year because this year i will graduate college and i am unable to obtain a visa at the moment. i saw kistler rods for the first time two years ago and i realised they were good rods despite the fact that in europe people use 8.6 and 9' rods. last year i was able to get a helium lta from cabelas and i love it. i caught a lot of nice walleye and it's a good rod for jigging. if i am not from america but we have a kistler dealer in our country will i be able to order this rod?...the 7' mh sounds like a dream come true.

I wish you well with your plans to return to America and fish for our largemouth bass my friend. In the meantime, if our international dealer can not get this rod to you, we can surely ship it directly to your address.

Keep in touch,

thank you for your quick answer, mr kistler! i noticed that some rods
in the graphite plus series have 6 guides while others have 7 guides plus the tip....is there a way i could find out more about the rod?..it's definetely my rod to go and i think it's just perfect for jigging with 1/2 oz jigs ...i am a great fan of american fishing rods(it took me four months to raise money for my lta...its almost the eguivalent of a salary , but i couldn't thing of a better way to spend those money :)) and of all american specific technigues in fishing for bass and i would like to thank you all for pioneering them..we took those technigues and we applied them to our walleye(zander) and perch with great success...last year we won the spinning world cup, today we have a powerful spinning generation and we look forward to using your great fishing rods...good bless america...there are a lot of good things to it
