Over the past four years I have been using kistler rods. I am pleased with the sensitivity and performance of the rods.

Does any one own one of these? I own Graphite and LTA rods. I thought it was time for a new rod and that I would try one of the MG's. Any suggestion on other rods?

Josh -

The grass puncher rod is awesome. It has great feel with heavier jigs and longer worms.

I also recommend (depending on the exact application you're looking for) the 7' Jig 'n Toad rod. This is one of my favorite rods in this series. It has a little extra length, but the specs are very similar to the puncher. It has a great tip and all the strength to get the fish out of the pads/grass/wood quick. Good luck.

I decided to go with the Jig and Toad. I have fished with it a few times and love the feel. The sensitivity is very good, rod is very light and responsive. I think I will buy a few more MGs. Any suggestions on which ones to add to the rods I have?

Josh,
that Jig N Toad rod is a great rod. I have a couple of them. Glad you like it. I have used it for various applications and haven't found one yet that doesn't work. you can't go wrong with the MG's. as far as some suggestions for others..well it depends on what you want to do with them. the MG's come application specific and they are all great. Good luck!!!

MG FAVOURITES

Postby kingofboizz » 5/9/08 12:07pm

dear josh,
here my advice since i have almost all of them:

MG69MH casting > all around, great for spinnerbaits and lipless cranks
JIGETOAD + 68 HEAVY COVER FISH SNATCHER> you know them
78alldayflipping > great balance, light and performance delivery
7 GLASSCRANKER> awesome
7 senko> just great also with 3/8 oz jigs and long casting spinnerbaits.

69 dropshot spin> super all around finesse rod, great for shaky as well
63 dock skippng> easy to skip baits, enough fastness and backbone for proper hooksets

hope you will find my advices useful

ciao
