i have a he70mlc is it too soft for suspending jerkbaits? (not deep diving). i already plan on using it for topwaters, but for the prespawn i wanted to try to use it as a jerkbait rod.

I think you will be better off using a medium action rod for your suspending rouges. I use a medium LTA for all my rouges, and love it.

I would agree with Skeeter20i. I have a He70m that is awesome for jerkbait fishing. I also use it for a lot of topwater applications. I think the ml will not have enough backbone for jerkbait fishing. However, it would be a fun fight.
