Hey everybody,

I'm looking for my next fishing rod, and I've been looking at the Helium II LTX Heavy Fast 7'0" casting rod. I need a rod for live bait fishing (shiners, little sunfish, etc.), and would use it for bass, catfish (biggest would probably be 10lbs), pike (canadian pike :D ), walleye, lake trout, and salmon. I guess I want a rod for just about everything. Along with live bait, I would be casting spinnerbaits, senkos, carolina rigs, spoons, and swimbaits (no bigger than 1.5 oz).

Can anybody who has this rod let me know what it's like and please give their opinions.

Thanks,
Robert 8)

Robert,
I think that would be an excellent choice. Any of the Kistlers in the Heavy is what I would recommend. They all have plenty of backbone and will handle heavier baits that you mentioned. You could also try one of the flippin sticks if you want a longer rod.
