Has anyone compared the Kistker Rods to Daiwa's Steez Rods?

I certainly have. The Steez is a very nice rod. What would you like to compare exactly? The price difference from our Mg is about $200 so it might not be a fair comparison. Now, you might have fun comparing our Helium 2 LTX with the Steez.

How does the Helium 2 LTX compare to the Daiwa Steez?

Can you be specific? It what areas? There are so many aspects of a rod comparison as I would love to touch on the main points of your concern.

I am interested in the best casting rod for throwing a 4 inch creme worm with out a weight. This rig is much lighter than a sinko due to the circumference and density of the creme worm. Daiwa Steez says you can feel the bass breath on the worm with their rod???? I have heard good things about the Kistler rods and want to compare or discuss with someone that is knowledgeable about both. I do not know the exact model for either mfg for the application above.

Spinning or Casting? It seems you might want a spinning for such a light weight bait? What are your thoughts?

Casting

I do not work for Kistler but I have paid most of their retirements. I have six Kistler rods ordering my seventh today. I have mostly the LTA's and one LTX. I have used the Steez one of my fishing buddies bought and found it to be a nice rod. I can do anything with my Kistlers he can with his Steez. I use a robo worm without weight in a certain area here in California. I use 8lb Fluorocarbon and it works fine. Remember the question your asking has more to do with Line, Reel and rod altogether than the rod alone. If I were doing what your doing I would try to get either the LTA or the LTX in a 7' med with as soft of a tip as I could. I buy rods for individual baits most people won't spend that kind of money but it save me time and time IS money.

I don't have either rod, but I have been searching around the internet and the local tackleshop, and other fishing stores and have compiled many opinions and suggestions. Currently I only have one Kistler rod (Mg TS Crankbait Composite Glass/Graphite 6'6" Medium Moderate) and I love it! And from my research, I 'd recommend the Helium II LTX. I'll be buying one as soon as I can - 7'0" Heavy Fast (I think I missed out on the the deal - free Mg TS with purchase of Helium II LTX)

I would suggest purchasing a He2MHC66 because it will help with roll casts. The reel and line is super important for casting these weightless baits!!!

When compared to the Steez, I can tell you that the power and durability of the He2 is by far superior. Both are super sensitive and light. The Steez has no hook hanger. He2 has better grip. The Steez reel seat might have problems holding some reels tight enough but out He2 has the Fuji seats which hold ALL seats tight.

I don't have the Steez, but thought about getting one around Christmas with some gift money.

I have a Light & Tough 6'6" H which is awesome with the open air reel seat, with the blank right there to touch. With about $500 to work with and TONS of on-line research, I opted to pick up the Kistler "Chatterbait" Mg, and pair it up with a TD Zillion 7.1:1, with 12 lb. P-Line Halo line, it is SWEET!

I also picked up the Kistler Mg Crankbait 7' composite glass/ graphite rod for crankbaits. It is a STOUT rod with a much wider blank than my "Chatterbait" Mg, and a LOT of whip in the tip.

I just wish the Kistlers had the blank exposed through the seat, but the lack of the foregrip cork solves that problem and the hook hanger is sooooooo handy even for me, who used to hang hooks and lures through the eye guides.

I guess if you have money to burn and want a Steez, go for it.

Kistler's customer service is amazing, and the rods are so light yet tough enough to muscle any fish in, so I'll stick with them.

As my wife likes to point out, after each Kistler rod purchase, she can even catch them on our daughter's "SpongeBob Square Pants" pole.

I have the Steez MH rod with the deep spool Steez reel, and I dont see how any other rod and reel could come close to the way they perform.

I expect that post to disappear anytime now.

I guess we will see how long it lasts then.......I am sure Kistler rods are great.....I did not mean it to be degrading at all........I noticed that the Kistler rod that is similar to the Steez that I have is $399.99 and that is what I paid for my Steez but I got it new from Japan at a discount. And the pictures of the Kistler rod looks identical to my Steez.
