Received my new Graphite Compsite rod middle of last week and gave it its first test today. I already have a Helium rod for throwing my grubs and Senko's so I new the quality of the rod will be top notch.
My only concern since I've always used pure glass rods in the past for my crankbaits and spinnerbaits is will it be soft enough for my liking. Well after another average day on the water I was able to land 5 smallies, 3 on a crankbait with my new rod. I was quite surprised in how soft it is. The action supposed to be fast but find more like mod-fast. This is the rod I've been looking for as throwing crankbaits all day on 5oz glass rods can get very tiresome. I've tried my ( - - blocked - - ) St. Croix Avid Crankbait rod while the build is topnotch doesn't have feel or action I was looking for.
My setup today was the 7ft Graphite Composite matched with a 5.1 Curado spooled with 10lb Pline Floroclear. Was going to try pure fluorocarbon but didn't know at the time how soft the new rod will feel.
2 thumbs up for the new Graphite Composite rod.
